Our Dental Implant Treatment

High-tech diagnostics

The NewTom CT scanner takes 360° 3D images of your jaw and teeth for use in planning your treatment.

Once you’ve decided to move forward with dental implant treatment, your next step is a thorough exam and diagnostic evaluation. This includes highly accurate images with our NewTom cone beam dental CT scanner that shows a 360° 3D view of your teeth and jaw, giving Dr. Hoos the ability to know EXACTLY where to place your dental implants.

The NewTom scanner uses SafeBeam, the safest digital X-ray technology available. SafeBeam is only found in NewTom dental X-ray equipment. Additionally, Brush & Floss Dental Center is the only dental practice in Connecticut that uses the NewTom 3D cone beam imaging scanner!

Dr. Hoos also reviews both your dental and medical history prior to placing implants.

Meticulous planning

With the digital images obtained, Dr. Hoos uses his special software to create an implant guide. This device tells him precisely where in your jaw, and at which angles, to place your implants. In this way, the healthiest part of your bone is used to support the implants, and he can determine the correct size and type of implants to be placed. Any needed bone grafting is planned at this stage.

Your comfort is important

Dr. Hoos carefully plans out your implant placement in advance to ensure a stable, long-lasting implant.

Dr. Hoos carefully plans out your implant placement in advance to ensure a stable, long-lasting implant.

Dr. Hoos uses a gentle method that he developed for injections to keep your treatments as painless as possible. He also uses his patented “no-gag” technique for taking dental impressions.

He will remain in good communication with you throughout the dental implant placement and ensure you’re comfortable.

Part of comfort in dental implant treatment with Dr. Hoos is making sure that your teeth and jaws fit together properly when you bite down. Dr. Hoos uses high-tech methods to test and treat any bite alignment issues. A properly aligned bite can make a huge difference in general comfort.

High-quality new teeth

The time it takes from implant to final restoration depends on several factors, such as the bone structure, gum health, any needed bone grafting and the size (number of teeth) of the restoration being done. In other words, your treatment time depends on your individual situation and what is in your best interest.

For the materials of your new restoration, Dr. Hoos generally uses a top-quality zirconia. He’ll discuss the options with you. It all depends on what is best for you according to your preferences and lifestyle. Our replacement teeth are fabricated from high-grade materials by our excellent lab, ensuring an aesthetic and natural-looking tooth.

You won’t be without teeth while your implants are healing. Once the implants site has fully recovered, Dr. Hoos will fasten in your final lifelike restoration.

Dental Implant Patient Testimonial

testimonial-DonnaDonna

“I went through a surgery where Dr. Hoos removed all of my teeth. The whole process was actually painless and I was really surprised. I had some nitrous oxide during the procedure, which relaxed me. Dr. Hoos was always very gentle and caring through everything.

“It was a big deal losing all my top teeth, and I actually cried through the whole thing. But he was there holding my hand, letting me know everything was going to be okay and that it was okay to cry. When it was over, he brought my daughter in and I had a denture right away so I never went without any teeth. It was really something to open my eyes and have a whole set of new teeth.”
