Cosmetic Dentistry in Stratford
Boost your self-confidence with a brand new smile!
Cosmetic dentistry can make a chipped tooth look whole again, close a gap, align teeth that are crooked, whiten stained or discolored teeth, re-contour an unsightly gum line, make teeth that are too small bigger, and more.
All of these remedies have their own procedures. Our doctors have extensive experience helping patients proudly smile again. Some of these procedures can be completed in just one or two visits.
We listen carefully to what each patient wants and work out the best options for achieving that goal. We know that every patient is unique, and we customize our procedures for each patient in order to get the best result.
Training and experience to create beautiful smilesDr. Hoos has not only successfully completed extensive training in cosmetic procedures, he also teaches other dentists how to obtain the same excellent results. He has placed hundreds of veneers. His procedures are always guided by his belief in preserving natural teeth whenever possible as well as creating a smile that doesn’t look artificial and fits well with a person’s facial features and personality.

Our Cosmetic Dentistry procedures
A primary philosophy in our office is that any cosmetic procedure must take in the whole picture. We know how to make restored and repaired teeth look natural. We also take into consideration a person’s whole look, making sure the final result will fit a person’s face and personality.
Porcelain veneers are very thin, tooth-colored shells that are bonded to the front of a tooth. They conceal or fix certain flaws, such as stained or chipped teeth, teeth that are slightly crooked, gaps and even teeth that are not shaped correctly. Learn more about our Porcelain Veneers.
Although a necessity for dental health, crowns are a standard in cosmetic dentistry to create or enhance a beautiful smile.
We are pleased to offer either in-office or take-home whitening to our patients. Our product of choice in the office is Iveri Whitening, which only takes 20 minutes, produces 0% sensitivity, and whitens 2 to 8 shades whiter. Our take-home option is KoR, a very high-quality system utilizing custom trays. Our doctors will recommend which system is better for you to obtain the best results. A more economical alternative to fixing stained or chipped teeth, gaps, and mildly crooked teeth is dental bonding. A material made of composite resin is shaded to match your teeth and applied directly to the tooth or teeth that require correction, then shaped to look like a natural tooth.
The number one option for replacing missing teeth is dental implants. Dr. Hoos has successfully completed thousands of implants and has trained many other dentists in the procedure. Implants are extremely durable and minimally invasive, creating natural-looking and acting teeth that keep the bone strong and healthy. Learn more about Dental Implants.
Using a high-tech, soft-tissue diode laser, Dr. Hoos can sculpt your gum line. If your gums are uneven, or cover too much of your teeth, his skillful use of the laser can change the look of your gums quickly and painlessly. As your gums should frame your teeth rather than detract from them, recontouring can be an excellent solution for a better smile.
Onlays & Inlays
Sometimes you don’t need a full crown but a filling won’t be enough to repair a cavity. These high-quality restorations can be an option, and are appealing aesthetically as well.
We can fill cavities with bonding material that is the same color as a natural tooth. These fillings are as durable as traditional amalgam fillings but more aesthetic.
Conditions Cosmetic Dentistry can fix
Here are some of the more common conditions that can be fixed with Cosmetic Dentistry:
- Stained or yellow teeth—We offer both in-office and take-home whitening.
- Teeth that are chipped or broken—Veneers can provide a “new tooth” look. Another solution is dental bonding, a less expensive alternative.
- Small teeth or teeth not uniformly shaped—Dental bonding can make them look bigger and more uniform. Veneers are another option.
- Gaps—These can be corrected by using dental bonding or veneers.
- Gummy smile—Gum recontouring can be used to remove excess gum tissue, exposing more of the tooth.
Full Smile Makeovers
Every patient is different. When we embark on a smile makeover, it may involve only teeth whitening, or it may encompass several different procedures, such as veneers for chipped teeth, implants for missing teeth, or changing a gummy smile. We work closely with you to develop the best plan for your smile makeover.
We use a very high-tech lab that is in the same location as our office. Their skilled dental technicians combine art with technology to make high-quality, natural-looking restorations to create your beautiful new smile.
Designing your smile
A lot of careful planning is done before any procedure is started. Extraoral photos and X-rays are taken, and Dr. Hoos will do a thorough exam. He may create study models and wax-ups, both for diagnostic purposes as well as providing you with a clear example of what the final results will look like.
Dr. Hoos uses Smilevision dental imaging software to show you how your final smile will look. This very personalized imaging system goes beyond ordinary digital images, creating accurate images that simulate the real you, not just an “enhanced” image.
Another tool Dr. Hoos can use is Snap-On Smile. After impressions are taken, the lab creates thin composite overlays and they are applied as temporary veneers. This gives you an accurate view of what your permanent veneers will look like. Any adjustments can be made as necessary, such as color, shape, and size, before you receive the permanent coverings.
