Meet Dr. Gemma G. KwolekDoctor Kwolek’s philosophy is to look at the patient as a whole person. It is important to her that patients are comfortable with their dental care because she knows how much oral health contributes to overall well-being and quality of life. In addition to performing general and restorative dentistry procedures, Dr. Kwolek focuses on sleep apnea treatment. She has achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM) and is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM), the only non-profit professional association dedicated exclusively to the practice of dental sleep medicine. Dr. Kwolek works cooperatively with medical providers to treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy, an effective treatment that is covered by most insurance plans. She is an in-network, participating provider with many medical insurance plans, as well as a Medicare provider for these services. During the COVID-19 shutdown Dr. Kwolek organized a CPAP recycling event, collecting CPAP machines that were no longer being used and donated them to two organizations. One group repurposed various parts of the machines to be used as air purifying respirators for healthcare workers. The other company refurbished and distributed them worldwide for patient use. Dr. Kwolek is the author of "Sleep Well! Be Well!" which educates the reader about the importance of proper breathing and the effects of sleep apnea and comorbid conditions on overall health.
